Who are we?
Purple Videos Limited (referred to as ‘The Company’ from this point on) was set up in 2004 and is run by Andrew Towers who is the only person who works for The Company full time. It is a small business passionate about the work we do and giving the best to our clients. The Company is committed to make sure any personal data is kept as safe and secure as possible.
Consent to be filmed
Everyone who is filmed by The Company will need to give their verbal or written consent to be filmed. If this is out of our control, such as in a school or organisation, then the school will need to have signed consent forms from parents / guardians of the children who are to be included in the film. If a child who cannot be filmed is to appear in a school production, It is the school or oganisation’s resposibility to inform The Company at least 1 day in advance of filming. This will allow enough time to plan how to conceal the child’s identity.
Storage of Video data
Storage of any video data taken will be stored on memory cards / hard drives in a locked office (with 2 locked doors) apart from when it is in transit.
Both the unedited and edited footage will remain on The Company’s computer for a maximum of 6 months after which it will be deleted. This computer will be password protected.
A hard copy of the final edited video will be stored on a DVD / Blu Ray in a locked cupboard after this time in case any more copies are needed in future.
Any online copies will be stored on a streaming platform such as Mediazilla and be password protected.
Any DVDs, Blu Rays or online streaming videos which parents have bought are obviously out of The Company’s control.
Storage of Personal Details
We will aim to minimise the collection of any personal details as orders will be usually placed directly with the school.
The only information that we may have is parent’s email addresses so a link can be provided to an online video. This will be kept within our email provider.
These email addresses will not be used for any other purpose than the delivery of links or issues that may arise from this. Postal addresses too may be stored in the event of media being posted out.
