Purple Videos recently provided professional Funeral Live Streaming in Penrith, Cumbria, working alongside Richardsons Funeral Directors for a funeral service at the unique St Michael’s Church in Barton, near Penrith.
The church is a particularly distinctive building, famous for its unusual design, with the tower positioned in the middle of the church rather than at the traditional end. It provided a memorable setting for the service, which was extremely well attended, with the church packed with family members, friends and those wishing to pay their respects.
With so many people attending, I provided additional loudspeakers outside the church so that those unable to get inside could still hear the service and join in this important farewell.
Funeral Live Streaming in Penrith
Funeral Live Streaming offers a valuable way for family and friends who cannot attend in person to take part in a funeral, wherever they are in the world.
For this service near Penrith, I set up professional live streaming equipment to broadcast the funeral online, allowing those unable to travel to Cumbria to watch remotely and feel connected to the occasion.
Working alongside Richardsons Funeral Directors, I helped ensure the technical arrangements ran as smoothly as possible, allowing the family to concentrate on remembering their loved one.
A Unique Church with the Tower in the Middle
St Michael’s Church in Barton is an unusual and characterful church near Penrith. One of its most striking features is its central tower, which stands in the middle of the church building rather than at one end.
The funeral was exceptionally well attended, and the church was packed. To help accommodate the large number of mourners, I supplied additional loudspeakers outside the building so that people who could not fit inside could still hear the service clearly.
Providing sound outside a church can make a real difference at a large funeral, ensuring that more people can be included in the service and have the opportunity to pay their respects.
Purple Videos can provide outdoor loudspeakers for funerals where the congregation is larger than the available indoor space, helping families and funeral directors make suitable arrangements for everyone attending.
Reliable Funeral Webcasting with Starlink
One of the technical challenges at this location was the very poor mobile phone signal. A reliable internet connection is essential for a successful live stream, and relying on the local mobile network simply wasn’t a suitable option for this service.
Fortunately, I use Starlink satellite internet for mobile live streaming, providing an alternative connection when conventional mobile coverage is unreliable.
By using Starlink, I was able to provide the internet connection needed to broadcast the funeral online, despite the poor mobile signal in the area. Having a reliable alternative is particularly important when live streaming funerals in rural parts of Cumbria and the surrounding countryside, where mobile coverage can vary considerably between locations.
At Purple Videos, I plan for the practical challenges of each venue to help deliver a professional and dependable funeral webcast.
